Design Distill is a visualization studio that narrates design projects. Building on experience acquired in multiple fields, we are all about the creative communication of architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, real estate development and digital media.
ANDREW HARTNESS, Partner
Following architectural studies in Paris, Andrew worked at Ateliers Jean Nouvel, leading initiatives in 3D development and real time design. He is currently adjunct professor in architecture and landscape architecture at Rhode Island School of Design.
Current academic research includes data visualization, and design communication. Andrew holds a MAUD post-professional degree from The Harvard Graduate School of Design. He holds a DESA with distinction from the Ecole Spécial d'Architecture in Paris, and a BA in Studio Art and Romance Languages from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is a licensed architect in France.

ALEX HOGREFE, Partner
Alex grew up in northwest Ohio where he went to Bowling Green State University for his BA in architecture. He attended Miami University of Ohio for his Masters in Architecture, and moved to Boston after graduation to work for Paul Lukez Architecture. Now a partner of Design Distill, Alex brings with him a high level of mastery of all steps in the visualization process In his spare time, he is also the creator of http://visualizingarchitecture.com/. Through his website he engages with an online international architecture community focusing on teaching and experimenting with architecture representation techniques.
JAY HOELLE, Associate
After getting his degree in Architecture from Kansas State University, Jay joined the hospitality department at JCJ Architecture, where he cut his teeth designing casinos, hotels, lounges and restaurants. In 2011, he established and led the visualization department within the firm, creating a standard 3D design and rendering process that was implemented in all 5 offices across the nation.
Jay moved to Boston and joined Design Distill in late 2014.
NOAH GEUPEL, Designer
A born and bred Massachusetts native, Noah received his Masters of Architecture degree from Boston Architectural College in summer 2018. Having always had a passion for architecture, Noah worked in residential design for over half a decade before and during his Masters degree studies. Between his professional and academic endeavors in the design field Noah realized his passion for visualization and architectural representation, taking the leading visualization role at his firm and developing his artistic talents. He joined Design Distill at the end of Summer 2018, where he continues to exercise his passion for design and visualization.
FOREST O’DONOGHUE, Designer
Forest is Born and Raised here in Boston. After graduating from RISD with a degree in Industrial Design, Forest moved to New York where he worked for several well-known boutique lighting design companies. He is also a certified bar tender and is currently in a nutty phase with his alcoholic beverages.
ANA CORDERO, Designer
Ana was born in Costa Rica but spent most of her youth growing up in Vero Beach Florida. She attended the University of Florida (go gators!) where she received a Masters degree in Architecture. Ana loves traveling and capturing the world in pictures, listening and going to film score and classical music concerts, but this all pales in comparison to her love of animals!
CAROLINA LUBATTI, Designer
Carolina grew up in Cordoba, Argentina. She moved to the states in 2007. Right after getting her Bachelor degree in Architecture at National University of Cordoba, She focused her work into digital practice and design. Her first work in 2006 opened her desire to explore the interesting world of design through visualization. In her spare time, decoration and clothing design drives her into a world of colors, patterns and inspiration. She has been with Design Distill from the beginning.
